The Illuminator Standard is classic, comfortable to hold, to play and sounds great!

When building the Illuminator Standard body we decided to use a 1-3/4” (44.4mm) thick 3pc US Alder following the Iconic American classic. This wood was chosen for its stability, tone and vintage aesthetic. For some this is the best sounding wood for a bolt on neck guitar. It has a very warm, clear and live sound with a nice solid sparkle, rich bass tones and great sustain.  

We chose USA North Eastern Maple for the neck material and we used a “C” shaped profile which measures a thickness of 53/64” (21mm) at the first fret and 55/64” (22mm) at the 12^th fret. The nut width is 1-11/16” (43mm).

The fingerboard is made of Indian Rosewood with 6mm pearloid dot inlays. We use 22 high density medium jumbo nickel silver frets for playing ease and the Aslin Dane 15:1 Die Cast machine heads are used to insure stability and accurate tuning.

We chose the FSC-2 offered by Full Contact systems™. This bridge uses a single knife edge design with standard diecast saddles, however the saddles fasten down very securely to the base plate for better stability, tone and sustain. It is made up of a chrome plated steel plate with 6 individual die-cast steel saddles.

For the electronics we used a set of ADS California Special pickups. These pickups have an extra coil to lower RF and hum associated with single coil pickups. The pickups are quiet yet produce incredibly accurate classic single coil sounds. The controls offer one master volume and two 2 tone controls for the neck and middle pickups. There is a 5-way lever switch for pickup selection. The 5-position lever switch functions as follows:

Position 1- Neck Pickup only

Position 2- Neck and Middle pickups on

Position 3- Middle pickups only

Position 4- Middle and bridge pickups on

Position 5- Bridge only
