We chose to use a 3-piece neck construction to achieve a very solid feel and for its added stability. It consists of a 5/32” strip of African Sapele sandwiched between 2 pieces of America Hard Maple. For the fingerboard we decided on ebony for its clear and defied articulation as well as the sustain it offers. The fingerboard is bound with solid USA Maple. The pearl and abalone shell block inlays further accentuate the ebony fingerboard for a beautiful and luxurious look. For the tuners we chose the Grover 102 die-cast machine heads.

The hollow body measure 16” across the lower bout and 11” across the upper bout. The body thickness measured from the side is 3-5/16”. The Jazz King features a Spruce laminated top with laminated Mahogany sides and back. The body is accented with Solid Maple binding on the top, sides and back of the instrument as well as inside the “F” holes.

For the Pickups we chose the Alnico-5 AD 58-n Vintage Tone Humbuckers. In the neck position is the AD 58-n and the Alnico-5 AD 58-b in the bridge position. These pickups sound great and have a full and rich harmonic tone and are perfectly suited for this guitar. The controls consist of two 24mm 500K audio taper Volume potentiometers and two 24mm 500K Audio taper Tone potentiometers. The tone controls are wired with 0.047 capacitors for a great warm tone. A three-position toggle switch located in the upper bout allows for easy pickup selection.

The Jazz King “Standard” model is fitted with an ebony floating bridge.
